Albert Sabban holds a Ph.D from the University of Colorado Boulder, USA; an M.Sc from Tel Aviv University, Israel; and a US patent on wideband microstrip antennas. Ruth wrote this book as a mother after looking around and trying to find a children's version. Not finding a single children's version in English of the ancient Tao te Ching she tasked herself with creating something her son would enjoy. In addition to the experience of being a mother and studying religion for 40 years, Ruth possesses a Master of Arts in Humanities and a Certificate in Poetry Writing. This uniquely qualifies her to write children’s books, comment on popular culture, and travel on pilgrimages. She shares an apartment with her family, and lives without a car in a big city. The artist Joan Hunter Iovino was born in Washington, D.C. and after a decade of travels across the United States, now resides in rural Maryland with her “road cat” Driftwood. She spends the majority of her time in her studio drinking cold coffee and making a mess.

Voyage to the Sun is a lovely children's version of the ancient classic Tao Te Ching. The words of the book are simple and poetic. They encourage qualities such as quiet, listening, observation, open-heartedness, fun, simplicity, imagination, dreaming, learning to think for yourself, and best of all, kindness and compassion. These qualities are lacking in American society, so this book is an excellent way to introduce children to them and reinforce these concepts. Tao literally means "the way" in Chinese. Taoism is a philosophy that has to do with aligning with nature and going with the flow of the universe. The concepts of Taoism can be quite complex, but this book makes them simple and clear. They talk about mysteries, beauty, magic, and nature. Joan Hunter Iovino's illustrations are whimsical. The colors are rich and luminous. They make a perfect accompaniment for the beautiful words. I wish this book had been in my childhood library. I am going to send a copy right away to my great nieces and nephews and my godson's daughters. And I'll keep one for myself when I need a reset.

Short one-page titled sections in a kid-size font help make the book accessible to children. The illustrations are exquisite and are as intriguing as the text.

About the Author Sir Patrick Moore was a legendary British astronomer, writer, broadcaster and presenter. He is credited as having done more than any other to raise the profile of astronomy with the British public. He was a former president of the British Astronomical Association and the co-founder and former president of the Society for Popular Astronomy. He wrote over 70 books on astronomy, all of which he typed on his 1908 Woodstock typewriter. He presented all but one episode of The Sky at Night since it began in April 1957.Dr Percy Seymour did his PhD at The University of Manchester, on the large scale structure of the galactic magnetic field. Subsequent to that he was Senior Lecturer at the Royal Observatory, Greenwhich, and then Principal Lecturer in Astronomy at Plymouth University. He has also taught for the Open University and the University of the Third Age. He is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a Member of the Institute of Physics, and has also been a Member of two special commissions of the International Astronomical Union - on The Interestellar Medium, and Astronomy Education. He has published over 15 academic and scientific journal articles on Astronomy. His books on astronomy, most recently Dark Matters, have been published in English and German.
